Atmospheric, Gothic Metal |
The first three tracks are in a musical territory somewhere between Lacuna Coil and Tiamat, though much closer to the latter. The fourth track "Conversations with Myself" is a complete change in tone, I can certainly hear the prog influences coming through on this one, though it does seem slightly out of place.
As for the rest of the album, the songs are quite varied. "Enchantment" has an alt-rock feel, while progressive influences become more prominent again on "Grand Mystery". A driving and anthemic goth metal style re-emerges on "Let Your Desires", then finally we have a slow and melodic ballad like finish with "Maybe".
Throughout the album instrumentation is well thought out and the music well composed. Its many layers achieve the depth and atmosphere that really makes this album. Having enjoyed listening several times now, I can say it has that genuine depth and melancholic vibe that the genre has lacked in recent years. This is a beautiful journey through the darker timelines of the universe.

An excellent first album, but I think the band is still finding its sound. By that I mean that Jesus has a lot of ideas and potential yet to be unleashed.. a great up and coming band!
An excellent first run: 7/10
